My Freudenberg - a matter of perspective

| I have known men risk their lives for many things: for gold, and love, and hate; but never one would play with death that he might see a tree or stream or stones. --- J. Meade Falkner | |||||

| Freudenberg, once a thriving community, has become a mere dormitory town. Residents commute to far off places like Cologne, while many social illnesses of bigger towns have found their ways into Freudenberg. Lately the mayor and town council have torn down a number of old buildings that marked the history of Freudenberg. Although the town is in financial difficulties the decision was made to build a highly expensive new town hall. Freudenberg has about 18,000 inhabitants and is located in Southern Westphalia. |
